    Hey all,

The mustang has taken a backseat for awhile. I just finished rebuilding a transfer case for my jeep. I've also been busy with other things.

Still working on the cowl, down to 5 welds and about 20 left to grind. I'll upload some pics tomorrow.

Phew! Welding on the cowl is done! I have most of the welds cleanned up, but had to stop grinding before the neighbors start to complain.

I had my doubts more then once about ever getting that silly cowl back on

Safety tip: Don't grind with your mouth open

    Radiator Support work

    Thanks LoJack!

Today I braved the cold in my garage with the aid of my trusty space heater to begin working the damaged radiator support. At some point the front end had been hit. The support was pushed in and also damaged the cross brace (not sure what it’s called) that ties into the front suspension. Here is the damage:

    Here it is in-work:

    Here is the replacement piece:

I had to clean up for dinner, so here is the new support just resting in place. I hope to get it welded in tomorrow

Finished welding in the Radiator Support

Glad I can motivate you LoJack. You need to post up some pictures of your projects. I don't remember your '68 needing anything.

I was able to drill out all of the holes on the new support and weld it in today.

All that remains of the once damaged radiator support

Progress has been slow. I took a break over the holidays. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years! Between spending time with my family, work and working on my jeep the mustang has taken a backseat for awhile. But I have managed to replace both radiator support brackets. I'll try to get some photos added tomorrow sometime.

Radiator Supports, and doors hung for first time

Well may not look like much, but I have spent quite a bit of time on the car lately. Grinding welds, fixing pinholes and replacing more metal pieces. I have replaced both radiator support braces, unfortunately I didn't get any good before photos of the damage to the originals. The passenger side one had been pushed back in an accident and the drivers side crushed from lifting the car with a jack. Here are both of the new ones.

I also re-installed the fender extensions to the cowl.

Then to prepare to work on the quarter panels I have hung both doors with new hinges. I have the lower gap aligned, but need to add some spacers to close the door to quarter gap.

Well that's it for now. Sorry for the dark photos. I'll keep y'all updated as I make more progress.

Well, I'm sure some of you are wondering where I'm at with the car.............. Work has been hectic, and on top of that I found out that I am being transfered to Las Vegas. The past few months have been crazy. We went to the Utah MCA show and began our house hunting. We found, and bought a house, and will begin moving this weekend. Hopefully soon I'll be able to make more progress in our new, bigger garage! Until then here are some pics....
