View Full Version : Where is the inventory?????

Ford released sales figures noting Camao's better sales year (new thing of the moment so not shocking) BUT how can Ford compete when there is NO inventory.
I've spent the last three evenings on the computer Mustang hunting...what is with the lack of inventory...even the biggest of dealers only have a handful in stock.
Anyone know of a way to get Ford Direct ( or any other search service) to inventory search beyond your immediate zip code---like search the entire bloody State of California (LA is a cheap Southwest flight away).
WANTED FOR IMMEDIATE PURCHASE: 2011Mustang MCA Edition 6 cyl prem, GREY, black or black with red accents interior, automatic transmssion.
Custom order is not possible as Ford has dropped Grey for 2012 model year :out: in exchange for a stupid looking girly purple red that will not sell- kinda makes you wonder why Ford is running a Mustang ad during Barrett Jackson with a Grey V6 Mustang. Duh, if you run the ad shouldn' you think of actually producing the car; but what the heck do I know.

Found one.
Downside is that it has every option known to mankind (aka humankind for the politically correct types) on it....nav, hid lights, back up camera....$3500 of unwanted stuff...(MSRP above 32k for a 6 banger-wow). They are willing to sell for a little over 29k after Ford rebates (1500).
Thinking about it...
Gotta go research this $2300 electronics package.

For what its worth, I did not get the electronics package, but now kinda wish that I had.
What the heck . . . you owe it to yourself to have the very best. You can't take it with you, so spend it now before the government finds a way to tax it and take it away from you in order to pay state worker wages. (oh yeah . . . that would be you too)

Thanks Doug--found some interesting videos on the system on you tube. Only downside is to get the max out of the system you need a Sirus subscription..so more $$.
The nav would be good to keep Sam on course in 2014 (or me on the return).....actually 3 months ago I was in LA...not much around the hotel...getting an address out of the phone book and then driving around at night trying to read a map and not crash into anything wasn't fun. This new electronic system allows you to search for say an Outback and then it will guide you there....of course a $400 Garmin would probably do the same.....

Missing cars? Electronics Package? I found something better - the lack of an appropriate spare tire back in the car. Image my surprise when I went to check the spare tire on my 2011 V6 wonder and found a Chinese made "Tire Mobility Kit" with some very interesting instructions. I went to my Ford dealer to "get a spare" and was even more surprised to find out that no spare is available for my new 2011 V6 wonder that cost over $30,000. It wouldn't have mattered, because the spare hole in the trunk only fits a 17" wheel/tire. I have 18" wheels. So, I called up a certain online tire company and purchased the Perelli PZN and a SVT wheel on sale for a total of $182 plus shipping. After 48 hours, the tire and wheel, balanced and ready was stuffed into the trunk with the two jacks I purchased. I refuse to bet my life on a Chinese version of slime in a can.
Mustang 3, I believe I saw your car in red. It was sitting at an East Tennessee Ford dealer about four days ago. Haven't seen a black 2011 MCA anywhere.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr NOT happy about this! (Huge understatement)
My C5 Z06 has the same issue and is a worry on backroads. The fancy GM fix-a-flat kit works with a nail...but cut down a sidewall, pop a bead on a pot hole and your STUCK (normal C5 and C6 Vettes use run flat tires except for the C5 Z06 which uses special sticky normal tires).
I can't believe Ford does not have the appropriate donut (let me guess a weight saving mpg issue). Would you be willing to send me a PM on your 'fix" and from whom purchased? I was going to buy the Stang on Monday......but not without a resolution to this issue. Seriously for 12k more I can buy a 2010 base C6 Corvette with run flats (yeah, a Vette for $12k more then a V6 Mustang). This is nuts. This Mustang will be a daily driver, long trip cruiser (back roads with poor to no cell service) and the availability of a spare (or use of run flats) is mandatory. oh Iron Mike--it is (or should I say maybe) Grey not black.
Iron Mike- THANK YOU for the warning.
UPDATE: did a google search--oh yeah this is a huge issue with folks. Ford dropped the spare on ALL V6 Mustangs for 2011-assumption is getting the 31mpg rating was more important to Ford. Several folks have been caught off guard and unhappy. Even with a simple nail the kit will ruin the tire and pressure sensor with goup......so figure a nail will cost you $250 instead of a $15 plug. The base 2011 GT's with 18 in tires do come with a mini spare....18 x 4.5 - Iron Mike did your dealer service dept give you this option when you tired to buy a spare. That should work and fit the 6 banger spare well but I'm going to confirm before buying....but that alone adds a few hundred bucks to the purchase as you also have to buy a jack/lug wrench.
I wonder if the Prius comes with a spare?

Hey Doug--thanks. I've come to grips with Sirus as well as the pricy nav/info system. Just having an issue over the spare tire thing. My local dealer doesn't have a 5.0 on the lot..so that issue is still being researched. Iron Mike is hitting a dealer near him for more info.

01-23-2011, 12:24 PM
David,
I checked out the 5.0's at my local dealer. They come with a Made in China 18x4.5x40 alloy wheel with a mini mounted. I am almost certain no workable sized mounted tire on a 18" wheel is going to fit in that well. The parts to put a V6 in the same order as a 5.0 would be a jack, jack retaining bolt w/nut, and a wheel cover. Other parts such as the wheel retaining bolt w/nut, the disc retainer and plastic screwy-downer thingy should be part of the V6 can-of-crap foam holder for the Chinese-made can of slime and air pump assembly.
Current inventory today was three Shelby's (one black, one silver and one used black w/900 miles on it), two 5.0 (Race red, gray), two V6 w/pony package (race red, black), and about five 05-10 S197 types. I was wrong about the black MCA. It was probably the V6 I saw at a distance. I was informed that the MCA package is not a high demand item in my part of the country. The boys told me that they have sold every Mustang they have received this year with no problem and wish they could get more. I pass the Chevy dealer every day and I have been looking at the same Camaros for about four months now. I guess it is the part of the country. With Bristol and my part of Tennessee, we just don't go slow here. That is why I wrote that thread that everyone should be coming to Bristol for the 50th.
I agree....SIRIUS rules! Especially for blue grass and OUTLAW COUNTRY! The 60-70-80's hit channels make an old guy almost remember when....ahhhh!
Hope this is what you needed to know,
Mike

I can see no reason why it should not. The 2011 V6 Premium wheel of choice is the 10-spoke (US made) 18x8x44 wheel mated to the Perelli (Brazilian made) 235/50ZR18 All Season tire. The whole truth is based on the GT spare deal which is the alloy wheel (Chinese made) that measures 18x4.5x40. That four inches is what keeps the full size spare from going in the spare hole... Dang'it! I may just bite the bullet and buy the Chinese spare. This will replace the Chinese "Tire Mobility Kit" (of which I have no faith at all) and run with two spares for the trips this year. The full size spare will be the weapon of choice and on top in the trunk...so much for my suitcase full of evening wear. NOT!

Late to this party.....
But I know when I go to the FordVehicles website, it will let me search any area if I know the zip code. But yes, would be nice if you could say "Los Angeles Area" and it would accomadate.
Inventory is low these days because that is their business model. They are not over producing they way they were a few years ago. That way they dont have to fire sell tens of thousands of cars and resale values are far better as a result. And.....the 2012 models are on the way in a month or so.

I'm surprised you guys are so into the spare tires that you would base a vehicle purchase decision on them. I, too, am looking at the new V6's and thinking about a lot of different ways to go on them, but the spare hadn't crossed my mind. Some of the "vette" guys I have talked to are pretty anxious to wear out their run flats...
I'm kind of thinking a yellow blaze V6 with the manual and the 3.31's would suit me pretty well...

I'm surprised you guys are so into the spare tires that you would base a vehicle purchase decision on them.
I drive lots of back roads in Cali. Areas with NO cell phone service. You break down and your on your own. I've also had bad luck with tires..too many flats (bad back roads) including side wall cuts and one busted bead (unexpected, unseen pot hole at night) that a "fix-a-flat" repair kit won't cover. So yeah, it is an issue, for me. Just like a CD changer (and Ford's dumping it) is a HUGE issue for me--and yeah, enough to make a purchase decision over.
yes--Found a Grey MCA 6 banger that can be dealer traded in. Debate is between it and a 2011 Red Grandsport Vette (I live in both worlds although sometimes I have 2 of 1 brand instead of 1 and 1). The Vette has a CD Changer and the MCA 6 doesn't. Thus the tough call. Seriously.
A busted elbow (biceps tendon rupture) in Nov with resulting radial nerve damage from surgery is and will probably limit the full use of my left arm at times for life (severe pain factor at the wrist and forearm). I have no interst in trying to drive with a very limited arm (left) while using my right to mess with an iPod (which I do not own nor have ever used), or constantly changing cd's in and out. I often only listen to 1 or 2 songs on a cd--I experimented with my C5 Z06..1 good arm, changing gears and changing cds -no changer in it...well that was a big lesson in almost how to crash a car thus the reality that I need an automatic for the near future)...so having a 6 disc changer with steering wheel controls is HUGE to me and may in reality cost Ford a sale. The cost savings in their dumping the changer unit is sooo small-can't believe they did it. Please excuse tpos-currently typing with three fingers-left arm still in post surgical bracing when I'm tired-like now.
UPDATE: Seems the 2011 Mustang Electronics Package (which the MCA has) has some harddrive feature for storing music...reserching this possibility next....yeah yeah...David join the 21st century-NEVER!

David,
I researched the Shaker 500 portion of my handbook and the car instruments and found no reference of a built-in hard drive feature (but I can’t say it is not there). I do not have the multi-CD changer in my car. My handbook refers to the functionality for portable storage devices connected through the auxiliary input jack and the USP port located inside the console (all the control is through the AUX function). For myself, I did find the Speed Compensated Volume function which automatically adjusts the sound as speed increases to compensate for road and wind noise (being partially deaf, I really like this). Just for a note, I don’t see how I can shut the lid of the console on a 12V power cord without stressing the thing, and a corded MP3 player may have a similar problem. The way I drop things into console holes, I dare say any portable memory stick is in danger for its life.
I doubt if I worry with the CD player and MP3 like I have in the past with the advent of SIRIUS radio. LOVE IT! Sue and I fight over the buttons all the time as to which station. The funniest thing so far is I have the cell phone is set to “just start” with no tones or warning over the volume (the only warning is the radio stops and the call info appears on the readout screen on the dash). The first time a friend just started talking with no warning, I don’t want to tell you what I thought. So, if you hold your thumbs properly on a steering wheel, you might be careful not to brush the phone function on the wheel itself. Funny.
I know these new features have been out for a while, but when you first start using the technology – it’s a hoot!

Thanks Iron Mike,
The harddrive to download music appears to be in the Navagation system--part of the $2400 Electronics Package. The Grey MCA I found has it..originally a no way...now a mandatory item per research I've done, 3 part You Tube video and a Doug Gompertz recommendation (I'll get years of enjoyment harassing Doug that I have it and he doesn't, that along with never allowing him to see the car-inside joke)..called Harrold Ford this am to ok the dealer transfer...and as usual the Force was against me...it was sold on Saturday by it's dealer, so no trade possible.
NOT another Grey MCA within dealer trading distance here in California (well one with a glass roof which is a deal buster-no interest in it. I've driven Vettes with glass (plexi) roofs and just did not like it, even tinted/shaded the sun beats in here in Cali when its 110 in August).
Dealership is looking for my backup color...race red. We will see what shows up. They are willing to custom order a 2012 but Ford just raised V6 prices for 2012 so even with X Plan this thing will bust $30k for a 6 banger and that I am having emotional issues over. When you are down to a $9.5 - 10k difference in pricing (street) between a V6 Mustang and a Corvette the auto world has really gotten wierd (yes nav in the V6 and no nav in the base no option Vette coupe..but still..too damn close in $$).

Chiming into the Sirius radio part of the discussion a little late . . . when I bought my 2008 Shelby GT, part of the deal was free Sirius radio for 6 months plus free antenna installation. That was nice . . . except that the antenna was installed on the front side of the car rather than the back, so people keep asking me what that black bump is at the top edge of the window. Nice surprise was that I got Sirius for an entire year free, rather than just 6 months. It wasn't until the 12th month that Sirius asked for money; and they never charged me for the additional 6 months over the original 6 provided by Ford. I love free stuff.
About how long should I expect to keep a new spare in the trunk before it becomes useless? Just wondering if I should replace my spare before Paul's 9/11 drive.

" Me, paranoid? Maybe. When you are in a group, soliciting help from friends is seldom a problem. When you are by yourself, you play with what you have."
Mike- side story. Going off memory but most of the details are still correct some 6 yrs later. Back flash to the mid 1960's. Walter falls in love with an orange 65/66 coupe. Back and forth (bought, returned, rebought if I recall the sequence correctly) but ends up with that orange coupe as a family car (even with 3 kids). Jump ahead almost 30 years to 1994. Walter and his bride (as soon as I post this I'll remember her name-keep thinking Irene or Eileen) and their original orange coupe head east with Mustangs Across America on the original 1994 30th anniversary run. They had a blast.
Now jump 10 yrs later to 2004. Walter and his wife are now pushing towards 80 (maybe slightly over). But they wanna go. MAA came back to life 10 yrs after the 30th anniversary to run to the 40th. Walter, his bride and that orange coupe made the run. At times I'd run through the group, tail to nose, to check on folks and everytime I passed Walter he had a huge smile on his face. In Mustang Ok we had a great time-wonderful dinner put on by the local club. Heading back to the hotel that night Walter made a wrong turn and ended up driving over a curb...pop pop go two tires with damaged rims. The group moved on towards Nashville the next morning. Walter, his bride and that orange coupe were not far behind. Two classic Mustang owners stepped up-pulled out their own spares and put Walter back on the road to Nashville.
Age did catch up with them and Walter and his wife couldn't make the 45th run in 2009...but they and the MAA spirit are always with us.
Mike-on the 50th run ask me about the guy who in 1994 who rebuilt the 302 in his Mustang II Kiing Cobra in a motel parking lot with the support of other MAA members.

I have the Discovery Channel MAA '04 on my DVR. It was Walter and Lorraine, and they were 81 and 80 for MAA '04. He bought a '65 in 1968, returned it, then went back to get it and it was gone. Then he found another '65 soon afterwards.
The amazing thing is they took their four children in that Mustang on family vacations. It reminds me of when my cousins came out to visit us in southern California back in the 60's, and we packed 4 adults and 7 kids in a sedan for a trip to Tijuana, Mexico (with my little brother stretched out across the rear window deck).

I'm sure it hurts to lose a deal on a Boss, but hopefully, you are a bit calmer today. I hope it was just a figure of speech wishing death on the family who got "your" Boss. Once you've bought a few cars, you realize what you are dealing with when doing business with dealers and that a good, honest one is to be truly appreciated. I, myself, have just recently found a Ford dealer who treats me so well, that I am likely to buy from again in the near future.
If it's any consolation, your Boss can surely be bought from another dealer in a fairly short amount of time near invoice with rebates. Juist ask the guys who paid over 50K for their Shelby GT's!

How much over MSRP are they asking? If the PJ is unordered and at MSRP or dang close I'd be interested--need to "order" as I need a California SMOG sticker on it (plus the Lagua needs to be black as the silver with the red highlights is hideous). 50 state sticker ain't good enough down here....DMV does not understand that Cali is part of the 50 states...need the dang Smog sticker that specifically says CA or no go with DMV registration here. The search continues...talked to another dealer this afternoon...........he is talking to the Nor Cal Regional Manager from Ford in the morning. Based upon the large numbr of Mustangs and other Fords I purchased over the years and my involvement in the Mustang community and major celebrations (MAA) he feels he might be able get one ordered for me as a direct customer order (whatever that means--apparently if it goes Ford will want a contract via the dealer signed by me, copy of my licens/photo id etc so Ford knows the car is going to me and not a broker, dealer stock etc). I'm not expecting it--too many close calls--but what the heck, gotta give it a shot.

If the GT500 contract between Shelby and Ford was to expire as written in 2012, will anyone (in the working man class) give any interest to a 20th anniversary SVT Cobra in 2013 after the way Boss availability schedules have been handled by Ford? Especially in this wonderful economy that the business world seems to ignore. My dealer still has no idea what he will get if anything. Me personally, I think the current generation S197 series is and will be the future preferred series of the car after the first generation. This will be way true if Ford does the European, worldwide sells thing with Mustang in 2014. My plan remains to wait and buy my last V8 in 2013. Providing we all survive 21 Dec 2012, which I believe we will. I really hope you get your car, David. We're on your side. Once the new rules hit in 2014, lust for the current series will grow quick I am thinking.
Let me add what is fueling my reasoning; trends and times. If you take most of the differing Mustang production numbers out there, our beloved 65'-69' most cherished issues of Mustang came up with a production of around 2,256,112 (not counting the 64 1/2 120,000 initial units). Now, if the anomalous production numbers for the 05'-09' are anywhere close, those 618,674 units make up around 27% of the 65'-69' production. So, those of us old enough to realize our mistakes or have considered cutting our wrists over missed opportunities on a certain 66' Fastback 2+2, I make the following suggestion. Cherish your S197 series before they go away. History may be repeating itself...this time there will be even fewer units to be sought after. What do you think a production #5773 Bullitt produced in 2008 might be worth to our children? See my point.
I would get my Boss if I could, David. Good Luck!

David, I e-mailed my salesman at Sheehy Ford in Gaithersburg to see if he can get a line on one for you. If yes, I'll post his contact info here for you so you can chat directly. I know Gaithersburg, MD is kinda far; but there's always a way to get a car and her new driver together, if there is a will to do it. Good luck to you, really hope you get one - regardless of where you get it from. After everything you've gone thru to get a Laguna Seca, I think it must be destiny that you manage to get one. - L.

Thanks everyone...I have a call (msg) into Russ' dealer. The backup plan still includes the GT500 (which I can buy easily) or a Prius with a copy of the purchase contract and letter sent to Ford Corporate (hehe). Maybe ordering a 2012 GT500 with the Recaro race seat option. With the alum block handling has gone way up...and that blown 550 hp engine is coming to an end in tems of size (5.4) and HP (550). A lot of money for a limited driver/show car but I'm just stupid enough to do it. Although not built by Carroll, lets face it the 1968-70 GT350's & 500's were either, it is a Shelby; and a greatly improved one at that.
Iron Mike..appreciate the thoughts and I agree. Remember I'm the idiot who in 2001 turned down an original owner (family, dad to son) 66 GT350 with 78,000 miles (but repainted) and dealer installed paxton supercharger because at $45,000 it was overpriced and not in original paint. Oh yeah, clearly one of my better moves.
Thanks Liz...all info is greatly appreciated. If a 2012 is not in the cards there is always 2013.

Torch Red with white stripes (3) 2011 Grand Sport 4LT Jetstream Blue Metalic -stunning color (full leather wrap) GM show car (not a media tester) with 640 miles, perfect condition, discounted $13,000. All 3 are within $3000.
GM dealer is set with final price (untouchable in the market currently) in writing. Nice emails have been sent to both Ford dealers advising I'm buying Saturday and to either quote me a price (which they have refused to do so far-they want me to stop in, test drive then discuss pricing--yeah, as soon as pigs fly) or remove themselves from consideration. After much thought I took the Prius out of contention. So for those looking forward to "Mustangs and Prius's Across America" that just isn't going to happen.
If I go with the Grand Sport I'll make it up to MAA by tracking down a 66 (my favorite) Coupe or Fastback and make it roadworthy for the 50the run in 2014. Thus this thread can be closed. Inventory issue is over. Cars found, now up to the dealers to sell. If I get either GT500 I'll post. If I get the other choice I'll stay silent out of home crowd respect.
Sam is right.....drama. WAY to much....in my life. My father died in march....I fell down a mountain in July (Grand Teton) and screwed
up my leg, Mother went insane in August (really, mind just collapsed) and then died in Sept. Tore the tendon off the elbow in November with surgery in December. Time for something good and if Ford doesn't want to get on board, their loss. Three day weekend coming up soon and I'm heading to LA (Museum trip) in style.

If you bought a Prius after putting us all through this I would consider using the red button for the first time. That car represents all that is evil and wrong about the automotive world. :dazed:

I'm with Sam in the Pius (reference South Park for spelling) - booooooo :puke:
David, Please don't close the thread. Sounds like you need to let off steam and this is a good place to do it - around people who care about you and won't take it personal when go on a rant. I remember when your mom passed; but wasn't aware of the rest of it. You need a serious break; so sorry the world crapped on you all at once - total bummer. Sending you lots of virtual hugs. :grouphug::grouphug:
Below is the message from my salesman at Sheehy Ford w/his contact info. Really hope you get the LS.

Hi Lizette,
Of course I remember you bat girlie, I just got back from Mexico and swam in a cenote! There were a bunch of bats down there, I'm sure you would have enjoyed it!
The Leguna Seca is super rare. I have one on order for a customer and we placed an order for another one that we're not sure we will be able to get, for another customer. The regular Boss will be easier to get at this point. We are selling them for MSRP.
Thanks for thinking of me!

No Prius.........just making sure Sam is reading..hahaha..I know his opinion on the subject.
And no worries Liz...I can deal with life...just can't deal with car salesman and dealership owners. As Sam knows..I've owned too many cars...total sucker for 'unique' factory editions. I've been able to easily lay my hands on everyone I wanted from 99-04. But with the 07 GT500 and now the Boss, cars I really care about....total dealer walls.
Matter of relationships...apparently totally one sided, hey its business and a one way business. One dealer in town..has a GT500 that is PEFECT in terms of color, stripes and options. Dealership owner wants MSRP. ANY stranger walking in off the street can buy it for MSRP. Over the past 20 yrs I've bought 10 cars/trucks from this dealership. I know of at least 6 other direct sales from my referrals. I do not expect a gift, or no profit, nor a sale at invoice etc but a minor jesture would have resulted in a closed deal 2 weeks ago. All he had to do was say MSRP to the world but with all your past business (they know what I've bought) $500 off and 2 free oil changes and I've have been a happy camper. But no, the owner says "Sorry, I appreciate all the past business but it is MSRP for anyone and everyone". Not even a $500 discount off MSRP (which he will spend close to this month in flooring costs on a $55k car). 16 vehicles through me for that dealership and yet my pricing is the exact same as someone who has never bought there and never will again. THAT ticks me off.
Right now the plan is pretty much set..buying the Grandsport ($13,000 off too good to pass up) on Saturday. This summer when warm weather arrives and prices go up I'll sell the C5 Z06 and slap that money (I hold pink) into the bank to cover a masssive down payment in a year on a 2013 Boss when the market returns to sanity as V8's sit unsold with $5 gal prem gas. But then again, I haven't opened email yet today-just got home...maybe good word from a Ford dealer...............yeah, right.

UPDATE
2011 GT500 with SVTperformance package (same car as Sam tested, well not the same...) price set. Torch Red with white stripes and yeah those stupid stripes on the seats. Only issue is lack of electroncis package. With only a single CD player I have to find out how you play those MP3 things...can't see driving down the road and trying to use an ipod thing (no I do not own one). Oh price: $4500 UNDER MSRP. This particular dealership has 3 Bosses allocated but owner will NOT quote me a price..he obviously wants to get me to move his 2011 GT500 off the lot. It has been sitting since October.
Boss 302 (standard or Laguna Seca; my choice). $5995 OVER MSRP for a verified allocation. Hmmm can't help believing pricing will be much better on a Boss in 2013 when gas hits $5 for prem. hmmmmmmmmmmm
Finally some numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!; geezzz like pulling teeth (I was gonna make a virgin joke but as this is a family fourm I'll refrain). Gotta figure out the non-nav Ford radio/cd system and then give it a nights sleep. Debate ends this weekend. Something bought or ordered. Time for a new thread.

Big Daddy here.
I too am semi tech illiterate but I found an easy way around the I-pod deal. I was at a local casino and found an adapter that plugs into your cigarette lighter and plays your I-pod through your radio. Tha adapter has a cradle/charger on it so you never worry about charging your I-pod. You just set the device and your radio to the same station and it plays. No internal wiring. With a 64 gig I-pod you could literally have thousands of your favorite songs at your fingertips. You can also play movies but I would not suggest that while you are driving. The best part is when you are done, just pull the adapter out of the lighter and there is nothing left to say it was there. Saves money on a sirrius subscrition and you always get the songs you like. Just a suggestion

Yeah but then I gotta go buy an iPod thingy. I've looked at those. Damn small with no openings. How on earth do you stick a cd into one and get it to play?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :nuts::rofl: Oh, the humor in this thread is really making my Friday. OK, so it doesn't take much to get me to giggle my ass off.
Sam, I think the next order of popcorn is right on the money. This isn't over yet.
Hey David, How about that new Tesla Roadster instead? About $109,000 should get you into one.

Can't. Prius dash isn't big enough.
I think it is too small even for the ipody thing.
Did drive an Audi S5 during lunch today. Interesting. Paddle shifter worked pretty good. Not much lag time at all with the "dynamic" setting. Dang NICE seats. Ford, GM , etc need to find out where Audi buys their leather. I'll repeat, NICE seats. But then again, NICE price tag also.

Thread Closed.
Ran the numbers and they are just "stupid money".... I love Mustangs folks but at $60,000 "market adjusted" for the Laguna Seca Boss I've decided is nuts (before tax, license which in Cali brings it up to almost $66,000). I've recently test driven some other $60/65k cars and yikes..my god what a difference in build, leather, voice activated nav systems, stereo systems etc. No I'm not buying one of the Foreign/European Imports but the experience did open my eyes a wee bit.
So I'm gonna go stangless for a year (maybe as short a 4 months). The Boss is being continued through the 2013 Model Year....gonna wait and see what the price really settles at. Although come June when I turn in my company car (daily driver-fleet being terminated=cost cutting for mid-levels while overpaid execs are getting huge bonuses for their 'cost cutting' efforts)...I just might Order (at XPlan) n MCA Edition 31mpg 6 banger as the daily driver (Doug Gompertz pretty much has me sold on it).
