That blows. I came out a few months ago, someone stole both mirrors off my truck. Just the mirrors. The mirrors alone were almost as much as whole assemblies. I went with aftermarket tow mirrors, and yes, I did install 150W motion light in my driveway.
This used to be a neighborhood where you could leave your garage open all night, and not worry. Now, twenty years later, about 80% of the original owners are gone.

Sad to say . . . it is just a sign of the times.
I've been living in the mountains these past 6 years, but because of some health issues we have moved back to the "big" city. The changes we notice (none of them good) in just a few years astound me. AND . . . the drivers. No one signals anymore, they just move over. No one stops at a red light anymore, they just run right through it! Seems like they all know that there are not enough cops on the street anymore to give them a ticket.
And also the crime, thefts, (you have first hand experience with that) nuggings, shootings, beatings and rapes. Most of the time it's being done by teen agers or young adults. No one has any respect for anyone else.
It's only going to get worse folks.
Gee . . . Do I sound like a grouchy old man? I guess maybe I've become one!

The problem with maintaining order in a democratic society is that it requires a respect for the law. Otherwise you need a police state to keep order. Sadly, and I've been around long enough to see the change, people simply don't respect laws and the concept of right and wrong. Then again, they've been groomed that way with all of the progressive ideas.
It's not just young people with that attitude, since I see the same thing across the age spectrum -- that the only reason to stop for a stop sign or a red light is because you see a police car nearby. It's pretty sad to see where things have gone...
On a related note, I get really annoyed at police no longer having public safety as they primary -- and really only -- purpose. Now it seems they are being forced to collect as much revenue as possible for local governments that have a never ending thirst for more money.
Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now...:sad2::

Blue Stang,
Don't get off your soap box, no need. Alot of people feel like you. I work in NYC, I live in Pennsylvania. I grew up in this city and feel like I am the only one here who is disguted with the way everyone acts. There is no moral base, everyone is out for themselves, I had an argument with a cop just yesterday. he was more than rude, you know tough guy with a badge. I go to ask him a question, as politely as I can, Hi sir can I ask you to move your car so i can park my car in my driveway, and i get yelled at and told to park somewhere else. So I go back home to Pennsylvania and clean my guns and wax my car and I stop at the stop sign.

its a shame that people cannot have nice things as other scumbags just steel bits from your car and you cant do anything about it.
im a bit ocd when it come to my car and it goes in the garage but you shouldnt have to worry about little vermin taking bits from 'your' car.
