MustangFest: West — PALM SPRINGS names two beneficiaries of the MustangFest Benefit Auction.
MustangFest has selected Palm Springs Mounted Police and Pegasus Riding Academy as beneficiaries of the MustangFest Benefit Auction — to be held on the MustangFest grounds in downtown Palm Springs on Saturday March 6th, 2010 at 2pm. Each beneficiary has an equestrian element involved; the Pegasus Academy helps severely-disabled children with physical therapy and more — using horseback techniques for the 170 severely-disabled children who attend the Academy each week for their personal needs. The Saturday-afternoon auction is expected to draw locals, in addition to registrants. 100% of the benefit monies go to the charities through the Host Club(s) as 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.
The entire MustangFest celebration (March 1-7, 2010) is scheduled for a FULL WEEK in Palm Springs — first with four optional educational days of MustangFest University™ from March 1-4, 2010 — then the fun begins... when the Cruise To MustangFest™ arrives into downtown Palm Springs on Friday afternoon March 5th — for a weekend of 'fun in the sun' for Mustangs and an ALL-FORD-PRODUCTS show on Saturday in downtown Palm Springs. Numerous classes including Shelbys, SVTs and more... plus people's choice awards. The awards will be presented on Sunday morning, after the check presentation to the charities and just before the Producer's Farewell Party from 10:00a-noon. MustangFest: West — PALM SPRINGS is officially over at HIGH NOON on Sunday.
The producer of MustangFest (Island Tom) met with the president of Mustang Owners Club of California (MOCC) and vice-president of Orange County Mustang Club (OCMC) in Palm Springs this last weekend — the two clubs have been invited as Host Clubs and the timeline for the event has been discussed by the producer and the prospective Host Club officials. The group spent the weekend in Palm Springs, dining together downtown and attending the Palm Springs Follies. Bob Fria attended and gave an interview to MustangFest TV — look for more on YouTube™ about Bob Fria's upcoming book!
On the MustangFest grounds (the venue will be named after all legal documents have been completed), some 700 dedicated spots will be surrounded by security fencing all around the MustangFest grounds. Per the producer's arrangement with the venue and PSECAs, the 7,000 sq. ft. tent WILL NOT COME DOWN after the McCormick Palm Springs Exotic Car Auctions end on Sunday February 28th. MustangFest will occupy the grounds starting on Monday March 1st for MustangFest University™ — Class of 2010. Palm Springs Golf Clinics will be available on the MustangFest grounds — taught by local golf professionals, with daily practice at some of the 130+ Palm Springs area golf courses. What a week it will be in Palm Springs — TEN DAYS of exotic cars, auctions, automotive education, an organized cruise into Palm Springs and a weekend of LIVE entertainment by Mustang Elvis and lots of fun for all ages. Great awards, lots of goodies and a lifetime of memories — look for the Early Early Registration form on the MustangFest website very soon ($35 Early Early Registration — thru December 31, 2009).
MustangFest University™ is scheduled for March 1st - March 4th on downtown Palm Springs. Industry experts will present seminars on products, services, esthetics and more. Historians and writers will present the history of the Mustang. Business leaders will present other aspects of the Mustang hobby, including modifications and auto racing.
The west coast celebration of MustangFest is expected to grow, like the event held on Mustang Island, TX this last October. The MCA Regional Event in 2010 is now scheduled for October 1-3, 2010 on Mustang Island and will again be hosted by San Antonio Mustang Club.
